A Living Testimony of God’s Protection
Read Aloud

In June 2025, 20-year-old Aidan Perry of Ocala, Florida, experienced what he and his family now call a miracle of faith. While spending time at a friend’s house, a .40-caliber pistol accidentally discharged, striking Aidan directly in the chest.
The outcome should have been tragic. But instead, the bullet met a gold necklace with a Christian cross pendant that Aidan was wearing — a Christmas gift from his father. Doctors believe the cross deflected and split the bullet’s path, sparing Aidan’s heart and lungs.

The bullet entered his chest, exited near his armpit, and then re-entered through his arm, breaking his humerus bone. Despite heavy bleeding, Aidan survived and was rushed into surgery at HCA Florida Ocala Hospital.
Dr. Khafra Garcia Henry, the trauma surgeon who treated him, said plainly:
“If that chain was not there, the outcome would have been completely different. These types of injuries are usually devastating.”
Faith Strengthened Through Fire
For Aidan, the survival was more than medical luck — it was divine intervention.
“It’s just kind of a reminder now – to never stop believing,” he said. “Keep believing, and God’s definitely real.”
Though raised religious, he admits his faith has grown much stronger since that night. His damaged cross, once a simple piece of jewelry, is now a symbol of God’s hand of protection over his life.
More Than Coincidence
The man responsible for the accidental shooting was arrested and charged with culpable negligence. But Aidan has chosen to focus not on anger, but on gratitude — living testimony that God still works miracles today.
What could have ended in tragedy is now a story he carries as proof that God is real and still saves.
